Question of the month:

As we've made our new home here in a place with people from all over, we find ourselves wondering what would be some good ways to build community.  What are your ideas?

  1. Impromptu friend dinners. In the morning, one sends out a mass text "Dinner tonight at the Carrs! ( or Sklars :) bring a dish! Starts at 6, ends when I kick you out!" I love these because there is no time to stress about cleaning or major preparation, which is an excuse folks use for not getting together. Here, there is no time to clean or really prepare, just eat and fellowship!

  4. We love weekly picnics in the park with friends. It's a standing date so when we run into an old friend or have folks visiting there's always an invite awaiting them. Food is magical at bringing people together.
