Towards the end of our time in Denver, we had a bittersweet reunion with the the Hokes. Steve's mom, Corrine, was in hospice care at her home in Denver with an aggressive cancer. Corrine had been a special part of our engagement gathering, New Years 2000, and will always have a warm memory in our hearts. She was loved by many and will be missed by many.
It was inspiring to see how Steve loved his mom in life -- with shared faith, purpose, and hearts -- and in her passing, being at her side until the end. She passed several days ago surrounded by her loving family.
I am so glad you were able to be there when Steve was; I am sure you were a precious encouragement to them too.
